The other problem is backtracking and running back and forth, of which I agree could fix. The best solution I could come up with is "upgrading" skills like the upgraded attacks MCH has so that you're still unlocking stuff later that has higher potency but you're not only spamming 3 buttons for the first 30 levels. The game could cut some of the bloat but other than that the current balance is very heavily in the favor of new players with the road to 70 exp buff among other optional items and stuff one could get to boost exp, but even without that with roulettes and the like can quickly speed through the content in ARR.

I don't know what else they could do that they're not already working on in the streamlining department short of cutting content completely which I'm not really a fan of. If you are soloing your way through most of the game, those dungeons can sometimes feel like roadblocks. I know there's some system (new since last I played) that lets you group up with NPCs, but don't know the specifics of how that works/when it unlocks for players. It's not just that I need to go alone 100% of the time, it's that sometimes you don't have to the time to queue up for a dungeon that doesn't see much action, or that I don't want to worry about wasting other people's time if I mess up and we wipe.

    Let me solo anything critical for story missions/job quests.I don't know if the solution is easier access to teleports, faster movement speed, alternative travel methods or what.

    And zones are big, so they take a long time to traverse.

    Even once you get a Chocobo, a lot of your time is spent getting to the next quest location, traipsing through zones you've already been to many times before.

  • Better transportation in early story/expansion areas.
  • I got to 50-ish WAR, but never got super far in mainline story quests. I've been out of the FFXIV game/scene for quite a while now.
